Banco Invesplan
A commercial bank that was merged late 1997 to form one of Ecuador's premiere investment banks. Invesplan started operations in 1981 as Cepsa's subsidiary, a vehicle leasing operation.
The stake in the merged institution (now Banco Aserval) was sold in early 1997.
This bank had its origins in Invesplan Leasing Company. This business was a financial leasing operation which dominated the Ecuadorian market in this field, attaining a market share in excess of 50% at its peak.
Invesplan Leasing Company was merged in 1994 with its sister company Invescorp, a factoring of receivables unit.
In 1996 the merged entity, by that time known as Invesplan Financial Services Company is transformed into a full fledged commercial bank.
Banco Invesplan merged with Banco Aserval in 1997 and later that same year Grupo Clasecuador sold its equity stake in the merged entity.
